The hospital, built in 1993, has 43 individual patient rooms all with en suite facilities. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The three fully equipped theatres with a seven-bedded recovery area are particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered, such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacement, spinal discectomy. A dedicated day surgery suite is suitable for minor surgery and endoscopy.

  • The staff were all very friendly and professional. They were caring and always available when I needed them. They would regularly come and check on me. When I started feeling the pain on day 2 of my surgery, they tried everything to cheer me up. I wasn’t allowed any visitors because of the pandemic, but I didn’t feel lonely at all, the nurses would sometimes come and sit down with me. I will definitely recommend the Berkshire Independent.

  • Went for MRI today and I had a very positive experience. I was very very scared and just before starting, I said I can’t do it. But the radiologist(sorry if the designation is not right) Caroline (again sorry if I don’t spell it right) made me so very comfortable and took Time to convince me and make me do it, I honestly wouldn’t have done if it was not for her., thank you so much Caroline., Team-please pass on my special thanks and a big hug to her.

  • The premises where the examination took place were very good and parking was readily available. The shoulder Xray was straightforward and very quick. The only negative is that the cost estimates for the treatment plan agreed at the consultation have not been received over 3 weeks after the consultation was carried out. I am not clear if this is the consultant or the hospital that is delaying this.

  • Lovely staff who made me feel at ease and super welcomed. I was shown to my clean comfortable room to wait for surgery, and a lovely lady came round to take my food and drink order post op. The food was good and the tea was spot on! I was referred and had a date for my surgery super quick. I actually went back in April for my second surgery and the treatment was just as good. Thank you NHS and thank you to everyone at the Hospital, keep up the great work!
