In line with the NHS Constitution we aim to treat all patients within a maximum of 18 weeks of receiving your referral letter from your GP General Practitioner. Unfortunately, in some cases the COVID pandemic has caused delays in treatment, but we are working hard to return things to normal and treat patients as soon as possible.

Following an outpatient appointment with a consultant, if surgery is required the patient can then book a time and date to suit their needs.
Tees Valley Hospital is open Monday to Saturday and to fit in with patient lifestyles and work commitments late evening and Saturday outpatient and theatre appointments are available for many services.
Tees Valley Hospital is pleased to confirm that we are compliant with the Government’s requirement to eliminate mixed-sex accommodation, except when it is in the patient’s overall best interest, or reflects their personal choice. We have the necessary facilities, resources and culture to ensure that patients who are admitted do not share accommodation or toilet facilities with members of the same sex. Sharing with members of the opposite sex will only happen when clinically necessary (for example where patients need specialist equipment such as stage 1 recovery, or when patients actively choose to share). If our care should fall short of the required standard, we will report it.
At Tees Valley Hospital we pride ourselves on our patient-focused approach, short wait times and quality of care - all facts supported by patient feedback and the results of patient surveys.
The last NHS Patient Satisfaction survey reported that 100% of patients rated their experience at Tees Valley Hospital as either very good or excellent.
