We are delighted to work alongside Mr Rambani, consultant hip and knee reconstructive surgeon, who works at Boson West Hospital and Fitzwilliam Hospital in Peterborough for patients requiring an overnight stay. Mr Rambani offers patients the opportunity to go home 24 hours after their arthroplasty surgery, as opposed to the more traditional three to five days hospital recovery.
Patients undergoing hip or knee arthroplasty with Mr Rambani enjoy the clinical benefits of an enhanced recovery programme. This programme differs to a conventional recovery programme as it promotes the use of intraoperative anaesthetic techniques, postoperative analgesia, and early mobilisation after joint arthroplasty.
Mr Rambani applies these enhanced techniques to offer his patients less pain endurance than traditional approaches. By transferring a patient’s focus from post-operative pain to earlier mobilisation helps them recover sooner.

Mr Rambani undertook his basic training in hip and knee surgery and reconstruction in Yorkshire. He went on to complete three international fellowships: a knee fellowship at Leeds, an advanced arthroplasty fellowship at Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol one of the leading centres in the country for research and innovation in orthopaedic care and, an adult lower limb reconstruction fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital Toronto Canada under the supervision of world-renowned joint replacement surgeon’s Dr Allan Gross and Dr David Backstein. He has recently finished his PhD in Mech Eng. and Computer Sciences at University of Hull.
Currently Mr Rambani is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Leeds University. He has presented and published widely on the key aspects of orthopaedics. He is on the editorial board of many journals and reviews for top orthopaedic journals. He is the Lead at Boston West Hospital for Enhanced Recovery Pathways and Getting it Right First Time. Mr Rambani is ERP (enhance recovery pathway) lead and GIRFT lead at Pilgrim hospital Boston.
His specialist interests include: knee and hip arthroscopic techniques and, hip, knee and revision arthroplasty using uncemented hip and knee prosthetic technology. He is passionate about expanding the use of arthroscopic techniques for sports injuries such as ACL repair surgery.
