I recently visited North Downs Hospital on the 11th of September, for the first of two Carpal Tunnel Decompression procedures. I have suffered with Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome for 24 years, and coupled with my history of unpredictable Idiopathic Anaphylaxis and adverse reactions to many medications, I was understandably quite nervous. From the moment we arrived, the Main Reception staff were welcoming and professional, immediately putting me at ease. While my partner was not allowed into the Day Care Unit , due to protecting the privacy of all female patients in there, I fully understand the reason and truly appreciated how kind and reassuring the staff were. I would like to give special recognition to my Consultant, Mr. Shafighian, an outstanding surgeon, whose professionalism and reassurance were exceptional and comforting. I also want to highlight Nicole, my Theatre Nurse, whose dedication, empathy, and constant support never left me feeling alone. She stayed right by my side throughout the surgery, providing reassurance and comfort every step of the way, and her professionalism, kindness and compassion, made a profound difference to my experience. Nicola, my Nurse in the Day Care unit, also provided outstanding support before and after the procedure. I would like to ensure that Mr Shafighian, Nicole, and Nicola receive my personal recognition for their outstanding care, while also thanking the Anaesthetist, all Theatre Staff, and the wider team, whose professionalism and kindness made a potentially stressful procedure much more manageable. Thanks to their dedication, I now feel confident and fully reassured to return for my second surgery, knowing that I am in such capable and compassionate hands. Many Thanks again. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Environment was calm; room was lovely, comfortable and welcoming; nursing staff were fantastic. Mostly the same nursing care for each shift which was great. Also food selection was pretty good too. Couldn’t ask for more.

Knee replacement. I had to choose an hospital that was close to me and covered all my needs. The main ones being the highest ratings and nearby. Woodthorpe hospital covered this and more. Right from my first interaction with the staff, and the correspondence, I was filled with confidence and pleased. A short story long!! Right from my first booking and to the knee operation, all that was laid in front of me was true professionalism, courtesy, kindness and genuinely nice people. From the receptionist to the anesthetist, surgeon and post op care team. These are just a few experiences that I feel I need to share. I am terrified of hospitals and surgery, especially anything to do with needles, or being aware of what is happening around me on a procedure or operation. I mentioned this to one of the team at at woodthorpe hospital, whilst she Was going through my information before my operation. When the anesthetist came in he knew all my worries and exactly how to put me at ease. This was because the team had a repor and communication between each other. The surgeon did an amazing job to the highest standard you would expect. The physio lady just radiated professionalism and to an high standard. The post op care team that was dealing with me, again just topped off my experience with Woodthorpe hospital. Ray and Lucy were about as professional as you could wish to meet in their environments. They demonstrated true charactor, and promoted Woodthorpe hospital to an high standard. Thank you all for a remarkable experience. Derek.

I recently had a day case procedure at Euxton Hall. I was a little nervous but was reassured by the lovely nurses on the ward. The theatre staff were also lovely. My Consultant came to see me beforehand to ask if I had any questions or concerns. Afterwards, when back in the room, I was checked on numerous times by the nurses and the Anaesthetist Zita came to see me. I wouldn’t have wanted my procedure anywhere else. Thank you so much

From start to finish, nothing was to much trouble. From the choice of appointments, to the the staff on the wards. Felt really looked after. It was nice also to have a follow up phone call to check that all was OK.

The staff were all friendly and helpful especially the nurses. I was very comfortable and when I rang the bell to help me to the toilet it was answered promptly. There was one lovely nurse in particular who helped me very much and listened to me and I’m sorry I did not take her name.
