How to refer


Private Referrals

A private referral letter may be faxed, emailed or posted out to the hospital.

Email: Sent by email to Oaklands.referrals@nhs.net
Post: Sent to the Bookings Department at the Hospital.

If you prefer to send a referral without a consultant named we will ensure that an appropriate consultant is selected.


NHS Patient Choice

Oaklands Hospital works in partnership with the NHS, under the Choose and Book e-RS system which allows GPs to refer to a hospital of their choice, providing the service is offered at the hospital.

The system is quick and easy to use and patients will have a consultation and surgery carried out if necessary, within 18 weeks.

Please include NHS numbers and confirm all demographic details of the patient including full name, address and daytime telephone numbers including any mobiles. Please ensure you include or send any relevant x-rays, scans, test results, BMI, current medication, past medical history and any known drug allergies.

A number of appointments are available across a range of specialities, and can be selected through the NHS Choose & Book system.

In the meantime your patient can contact their local Ramsay Hospital directly to arrange a convenient appointment.

If the patient does not contact us we will contact them to arrange an appointment according to the details provided on the referral.
