Ramsay Health care UK is a Veteran Aware organisation in recognition of our commitment to improving care for the armed forces community which includes Regular and reservist personnel, veterans, spouses, partners and their families.
Veteran Aware accreditation seeks to deliver:
Veteran Aware accreditation supports NHS, and other healthcare organisations, to meet the commitments of Armed Forces Act, 2021. The Armed Forces Act brought the Armed Forces Covenant into law and states that members of the Armed Forces Community, should not be disadvantaged when accessing or receiving healthcare.
We support the UK Armed Forces Community as an employer and are proud to be a Veteran Aware healthcare provider. Please let a member of staff know if you, or your spouse/partner, currently serve or have ever served in the UK armed forces so that we can best support your care needs.
We are committed to ensuring no disadvantage and to giving special consideration where appropriate.
We have educated and trained all relevant staff to identify and respond to the specific needs of the Armed Forces Community.
Privileged to attend the awards evening at Maddingly Hall, Cambridgeshire, with our Chief People Officer, Lisa Jeffries and collect our Silver Award. Now working on improving the support for Armed Forces and hopefully achieving Gold recognition next year.
RHCUK has set up an Armed Forces Community for our employees, with over 60 members, with a mix of veterans, reservists, cadet force adult volunteers and family members. The group have their own communications site and have met up on several occasions. A favourite event is the Army v Navy Game at Twickenham, where RHCUK organised a box for 24 staff and their families.
RHCUK has also supported military charities and sponsored a table at the Turn to Starboard Charity Dinner in Drapers Hall. Turn to Starboard is a charity that use sailing to support Armed Forces personnel affected by military operations, as well as supporting frontline ambulance staff and the NHS.
