Paul Foster MP, the newly elected Member of Parliament for South Ribble, and former Leader of South Ribble Council, visits Ramsay Health Care UK’s Buckshaw Hospital.
Situated at Matrix Park in Buckshaw Village, Buckshaw Hospital collaborates closely with Ramsay’s Euxton and Fullwood Hall Hospitals to enhance patient care across Lancashire and the North West.
Elected in July’s General Election, Paul brings with him a wealth of experience, having served as Leader of South Ribble Borough Council for five years and as a Councillor for seventeen years.
During his visit, hosted by Hospital Manager Helene Delaney and Head of Clinical Services Dawn Sumner, Paul toured the facility and engaged with staff and consultants dedicated to delivering high-quality services to local patients. Opened in 2021, Buckshaw Hospital offers a range of services, including diagnostics, physiotherapy, urology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, ENT, and gastroenterology, catering to private, insured, and NHS patients alike.
This visit allowed Paul to gain insight into the hospital’s contributions to his constituents and the collaborative efforts between Buckshaw Hospital and local NHS Trusts across Lancashire and the broader North West. Ramsay Health Care’s commitment to expanding patient capacity plays a vital role in ensuring that individuals receive timely and necessary care
Helene Delaney, Hospital Manager said:
“I was thrilled to host Paul’s visit to Buckshaw Hospital and showcase our vital role in the North West health community.
Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide the highest standard of care for our patients every day. It was a pleasure to tour the hospital with Paul and demonstrate our efforts in action. I look forward to continuing our partnership with him to ensure that everyone across Lancashire and the North West receives the care they need when they need it.”
Paul Foster MP for South Ribble said:
“As a Labour MP, I am a staunch advocate for our National Health Service (NHS) and believe in the principles of the NHS always being free at the point of need. The NHS has a critical role in providing healthcare for all. However, I also recognise the valuable contributions of the private sector in developing new technologies, trialling innovative practices, as well as alleviating some of the pressures on the NHS including reducing the waiting lists and waiting times.
My visit to Buckshaw Hospital has shown me first-hand how these collaborative efforts can enhance patient care across Lancashire, the North West and especially here in South Ribble and Chorley. I look forward to supporting their continued efforts to enhance healthcare services for all.”
Buckshaw Hospital is run by Ramsay Health Care UK, one of the leading providers of independent hospital services in England, with a network of 34 hospitals. These provide a wide and comprehensive range of specialised and efficient clinical specialties from orthopedics and general surgery to cardiac surgery and eye surgery.
