As the New Year rolls in, it's a great time to reset and focus on your health and well-being. Whether you're looking to revamp your diet, improve your fitness, or just feel better overall, here are some top tips to help you start your journey towards a healthier you in the New Year.

  1. Set Realistic Goals: Start with small, achievable goals you can achieve in a 1 to 3 month period. Instead of drastic changes, aim for gradual improvements in your diet and lifestyle. This could be as simple as adding more fruits and vegetables to your meals or taking a short walk each day.

  1. Focus on Balanced Eating: Instead of restrictive diets, aim for a balanced approach to eating. Include a variety of foods from all food groups: fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. This ensures you get all the essential nutrients your body needs.

  1. Stay Hydrated: Water is essential for your overall health including helping to reduce stress. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Staying hydrated helps with weight loss, digestion, energy levels, and even skin health.

  1. Prioritise Sleep: Good sleep is crucial for good health and weight loss too. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to help your body recover and rejuvenate. This includes having a couple of self care nights a week and having an unwind ritual.

  1. Incorporate Regular Physical Activity: Find an activity you enjoy, whether it's walking, cycling, yoga, or dancing. Regular exercise improves your physical and mental health. Aim for 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity, 5 times a week, even if it is just a walk.

  1. Mindful Eating: Pay attention to what you eat and savour each bite by tuning into your 5 senses. Avoid distractions like TV or smartphones during meals to help you better recognise your body’s hunger and fullness signals.

  1. Plan Your Meals: Meal planning can help you make healthier food choices and avoid impulsive eating. Prepare a weekly meal plan and grocery list to stay on track.

  1. Learn to Manage Stress: Chronic stress can negatively impact your health. Practice stress-reduction techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or engaging in hobbies you love. Pay attention to what makes you happy and include this into your schedule; from putting on fresh bed sheets to having a movie night with your bestie.

  1. Limit Processed Foods: Try to reduce the intake of processed and high-sugar foods. These can be detrimental to your health goals and increase inflammation in the body

  1. Enjoy wholesome foods: Like this New Year Anti-Ageing Smoothie:
