Chris Loverock BSc Physiotherapy Hons MCSP

Outpatient and Physiotherapy Manager

Qualified in 2009 with a BSc Physiotherapy with Honours from University West of England, Chris joined the Mount Stuart physiotherapy team as Outpatient and Physiotherapy Manager in 2019 bringing private and NHS experience as physiotherapy manager and clinical expertise in Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Chronic Pain conditions.

A keen sports fan, Chris enjoys cricket and rugby.

Chris is an HCPC registered physiotherapist, a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP), and a registered member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Pauline Virgo BSc Physiotherapy Hons MCSP

Physiotherapy Clinical Team Lead

Qualified in 2000 with a BSc Physiotherapy with Honours from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Pauline joined the Mount Stuart Physiotherapy team as ward physiotherapist in 2015. Pauline’s clinical specialisms include orthopaedic rehabilitation following hip replacement and knee replacement surgery, rehabilitation follow spinal surgery, osteoporosis and falls prevention.

Career highlights include working in New York City as a corporate fitness exercise specialist, having research published in the International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation, and voluntary work with charity cycling teams in Europe and as a Gamesmaker physiotherapist for the London 2012 Paralympics.

Pauline is an HCPC registered physiotherapist and a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP).

Ian Goodwin B Phyty MCSP

Senior Outpatient Physiotherapist

With a typical Australia lifestyle centred on swimming and cricket, Ian qualified in 1987 at the University of Queensland. After varied working environments including trauma and orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation and private practice, Ian moved to the UK in 1994.

In addition to his work with Mount Stuart Hospital Ian is a keen paddle boarder.

Ian is an HCPC registered physiotherapist, a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and a Member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine (MCPSM).

Krishnaben Kanani Bachelor of Physical Therapy, PGDip Advance Physiotherapy

Outpatient Physiotherapist

Krishna graduated from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, India in 2016 before completing a post-graduate diploma in Advance Physiotherapy from Salford University, England in 2022.
Krishna brings specialist knowledge in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation to the team. Outside of physiotherapy, Krishna enjoys cooking and dancing.

Krishna is an HCPC registered physiotherapist and a member of the chartered society of physiotherapy (MCSP).

Laura Nutbeam BSc Physiotherapy Hons MCSP

Senior Ward Physiotherapist

Our ward physiotherapist Laura trained at the English Ballet School in London and with Carmina Ocaña in Madrid graduating in 2003 from Trinity College London, with a Diploma in Professional Dance. Laura danced with the English National Ballet, European Ballet and toured the UK before dancing with the Leipzig Ballet in Germany at the opera house and then with the Tulsa Ballet in the USA.

In 2015, on retiring from ballet, Laura qualified with a BSC Physiotherapy with Honours from University of Birmingham. Laura’s specialist subject is rehabilitation following surgery.

Laura is an HCPC registered physiotherapist, a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP).

Teresa Bonar

Physiotherapy Technician

Teresa has been a physiotherapy technician at Mount Stuart Hospital for 20 years and is often the first point of contact with our team.

Teresa’s career started in administration taking her to many corners of the UK and also Greece and Spain before joining the physiotherapy team at Mount Stuart Hospital where she is trained in pre-operative assessments, rehabilitation support and administrative duties.

Teresa boosts team morale with her home baking, sings acapella with a local ladies group and has recently discovered a passion for sewing.

Ellie Martin

Physiotherapy Technician

Ellie joined the team as physiotherapy technician at Mount Stuart Hospital in 2017 carrying out pre-operative assessments, rehabilitation support and administrative duties.

In 2015, Ellie gained her degree in Healthcare Practice from South Devon University Centre to become a qualified Assistant Practitioner.

Ellie is a welfare officer and fundraiser for the South Devon School of Gymnastics as well as chief supporter of her daughter who is a junior GB squad gymnast.
