Dermatology

Dermatology treats patients with a wide variety of skin, hair and nail conditions. Treatment procedures can be carried out for both medical and cosmetic purposes. The skin is the largest organ of your body so it’s not surprising that skin conditions and diseases are extremely common. Almost everyone experiences symptoms of a dermatology condition in their lifetime. There are many different types of skin conditions. They can have a serious impact on your health and well-being such as sleep loss, poor self-image, and depression, and they can be a sign of an underlying disease.

Dermatology is a medical speciality concerned with the skin and hair and its various conditions. It’s a broad field which includes skin conditions such as eczema, dermatosis, psoriasis, acne, moles and warts as well as various skin cancers and cosmetic procedures to improve the aesthetic appearance of the skin.

We understand the impact skin conditions can have on a person’s self-esteem and wellbeing and our dermatologists are here to diagnose and help manage these skin problems.

Here at New Hall Hospital we have a team of consultant dermatologists who can offer convenient appointments for the diagnosis and treatment of common skin conditions as well as cancerous lesions. We also have a mole screening clinic for the early detection of skin cancer.

We offer surgical and non-surgical treatments and the appropriate techniques will be discussed in detail to ensure we provide the best option for your individual requirements.

Non-surgical treatments include: photo dynamic therapy (PDT) to treat skin conditions and skin cancers, cryotherapy for skin lesions including keratosis and warts, steroid creams for eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis, isotretinoin for acne treatment, facial rejuvenation using dermal fillers, skin and facial peels, Dermaroller and laser treatment.

The excision of skin lesions  (lumps or bumps on your skin, such as moles, cysts, warts or skin tags) is a minor skin surgery treatment we offer.
