How long have you worked at Ramsay and what is your current role, what role did you start with and what role(s) have progressed through?

I have worked for Ramsay for just over 35 years.  I started as a Receptionist in 1988 when I was 16 years old,  and then progressed fairly quickly to the Bookings/Admissions role.  In 1999 I switched and became a Medical Secretary, which then led to becoming the Medical Secretary Team Lead.  I have enjoyed running the Med Sec team for the last 20 years and have a fantastic team and consultants around me.  However, I have just taken on a new challenge and I am about to become Head of Administration, which I am really excited about.

What is your most memorable experience

My most memorable experience was moving from The Gloucester Clinic to our new purpose built site.  This involved lots of visits in hard hats to the new site, lots of planning, and was really exciting.  We have now been at the current site (Winfield Hospital) for 32 years!

What is your greatest achievement you've had during your time with Ramsay?

My greatest achievement will always be my children, but hopefully my new position will also be one of my biggest achievements.

I am really looking forward to starting the role, and lots of little achievements along the way have given me the knowledge and experience to take this new role on.

What do you love most about working for Ramsay?

Definitely the people I have worked with some fabulous people over the years.

What is something that makes you smile during your work day?

When you get a grateful patient that you have been able to help.

Why would you recommend working for Ramsay to someone else?

Healthcare is very addictive, and once you are in – you won’t want to leave.

I have moved through various jobs over the years and Ramsay have assisted me and supported me with my progression.
