Testimonials

What our patients say

  • Professor Vasdev instils confidence and trust from the moment you meet him. His friendly but professional manner puts you at ease and he calmly asks questions in language that any patient can understand. Likewise his explanation of his conclusions and recommendations are equally clear. He is polite, kind and has a sense of humour that makes him personable. His experience, depth and breadth of knowledge, and willingness to adapt to new technologies and techniques are indicators of a professional at the top of his game. 3 weeks ago Professor Vasdev performed Aquablation Therapy and I have already seen a 75% improvement in my symptoms and this continues to improve every day. Before this procedure I was having to get up 3 to 4 times a night on average. Now I am sleeping through the night undisturbed.

  • The Pinehill hospital is an example of a well run hospital. The staff are friendly and efficient and the surroundings are comfortable and welcoming. My room was clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything I needed. The medical staff that looked after me while I was there were first class, showing kindness and professionalism in equal measure. I felt well cared for and confident in their abilities. The catering was very good and the catering staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall I had the impression that the staff were happy and engaged in their work and this is usually an indication that staff are valued and we'll treated by their employer. The greatest asset that any organisation has is its people and Ramsey Healthcare should be proud to have such a great team at the Pinehill hospital.

  • I'm now two and a half weeks post op from my hip replacement and progressing well. I wanted to let you know that the care I received from all Pinehill teams was outstanding. I was very nervous especially about having a spinal anaesthetic. Amina (I hope this was her name) calmly reassured me and held my hand the entire time in the anaesthetic room. I won't forget her kindness. Mr De Roeck and the theatre team's skill meant I was soon chatting away in recovery. Once back on the ward the nurses and healthcare assistance were brilliant. It took many hours before I had all my feeling back. I was treated with great care and dignity by all and my pain was managed well. Even though I stayed another night due to sickness, I did enjoy the plentiful supply of quality food, presented very well. The ward pantry team were all lovely. Physios came and were so encouraging to do the stairs and get me walking. Anna from pharmacy came to talk through all my medication and explained everything. Post op X-ray taken with care and dignity. On discharge I was fully informed with what to expect. I felt very safe in the care of skilled nurses. My son came to collect me and the porter arrived who was chatty and took care to take me downstairs and help me get in the car. Reception team wished me well as I left. My son said I was treated like a celebrity. In a world where people are very quick to complain, I can only thank all at Pinehill for outstanding care. Well done Pinehill, you should be very proud of yourselves.

  • Mr. Stephen Tai, is the best surgeon I could have chosen to carry out my hip replacement. He was very pleasant and professional in every way. My replacement hip surgery is a complete success. If my old hip replacement, from 1997, ever needs replacing, Mr Stephen Tai would be my first choice.

  • I underwent a total hip replacement at the end of November under Dr Tai's care. Dr Tai was recommended to me as I was fed up with seeing doctors who did not listen and spoke at me or over me. I had many appointments with Dr Tai I always felt that he listened and gave me very clear concise answers to my many questions that I found easy to understand with no medical jargon. I am happy with the outcome of my operation.

  • Mr Tai gave me a full hip replacement on the 8th January 2024, I had no problems what so ever, six weeks later I am walking unaided and free from pain and I am 78 years of age. Mr Tai is one of the most pleasant consultants I have ever met, I would recommend him one hundred percent.

  • I was admitted to Pinehill on 5th November under Professor Vasdev for aquablation treatment to my prostate. All the staff who looked after me during my visit were fantastic, I have stayed in 5 star hotels and not been so well looked after! The doctors, nursing staff and catering staff all appeared to work as a unified team, did their own jobs extremely well and respected their colleagues. Dr Collins had a really wonderful manner and always made me feel relaxed by chatting and laughing as he stuck needles in me. All the nursing staff were friendly but professional and I have to mention David, who was my nurse on the day of my procedure, 7/11/2023. He made me feel very much at ease in the morning, he came along to theatre with me and was there to accompany me back when I recovered. I had never met him before that day, but it was like having a friend at my side, he was a real star. And finally, Dr Gowrie, the anaesthetist came to see me on the morning of the procedure and explained what he would be doing, which made me feel more confident, and hence more relaxed about the whole thing. And of course, Professor Vasdev himself was fantastic. Very easy to get along with, very professional, very competent but also very human and empathetic.

  • Following initial consultations, scans and x-rays, Mr. Thakrar recommended a partial knee replacement. The surgery was carried out one afternoon and I was home the next day. The intervention has been very successful for me, with no pain from the joint anymore, and the swelling and bruising due to operation is reducing fast. The wound has healed exceptionally well, and very neatly! I found Mr. Thakrar to be very professional, advising a suitable intervention for my difficulties, keeping me informed, listening to me, and managing expectations throughout. The care provided overnight was very good, the nursing staff, excellent.
