By road
From Stevenage come on the A602 and at the welcome to Hitchin sign turn right up Whitehill Road which has speed bumps. At the top of the road is a small triangle one way system. Get into the right hand lane to go round the back of the houses and then get into the left hand lane and go down Highbury Road past the Girls’ School and down the hill over the speed bumps. At the bottom turn right before the zebra crossing.
From the A505 (Luton direction) follow the road until the Hitchin football ground. Turn right at this roundabout onto Fishponds Road. Carry on over 2 mini-roundabouts and turn right at the 3rd roundabout up Verulam Road. Over the next roundabout and left after the zebra crossing.
From the A505 (Letchworth direction) follow this road past Hitchin Railway station until you reach a roundabout. Turn left and immediate left after the zebra crossing.
The turn after the zebra crossing is Benslow Lane. Go up the road until it narrows and Pinehill is on the right after the road widens again.
By public transport
The nearest station is Hitchin and is approximately 5-10 minutes’ walk from the hospital. Turn right out of the station along Station Approach. Just before the main road turn left up Burton's Path which brings you to Benslow Rise. Walk along Benslow Rise until you reach Benslow Lane and then continue up the hill to Pinehill Hospital.
The hospital invests in the latest advanced medical technology; the three fully equipped theatres with ultra clean air technology are suitable for carrying out a wide range of surgical procedures. The day unit is suitable for minor operations.
The fully equipped ultra clean air theatre suite comprises three operating theatres. These are particularly suitable for Orthopaedic surgery such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements and spinal surgery. The suite also includes a dedicated endoscopy unit for all diagnostic endoscopy procedures.
Visiting hours are between 9.00am to 9.00pm.
We do ask that you be considerate to others in the hospital. Lots of noise and many people can be very distressing to some patients. Please respect their need for rest and privacy. Children are very welcome but they must be supervised by an adult at all times.
