The hospital was first class in all respects. My operation was in the afternoon. I was 14th on a day’s list of 16 and I wondered whether it was necessary to be in attendance as early as 10.30am.

After booking 2 appointments the previous week which needed to run back to back at the request of my consultant, I turned up to be told that my first appointment had been booked in error for the following week. Without any prompt, the lady on reception informed me that she would try and arrange for me to be seen, which she did successfully, earlier than scheduled, and then I was called in to see my consultant one hour earlier than originally booked. A fabulous service.
