Dr Achuth Shenoy qualified from Mangalore University, India in 1989. He has had extensive training in General Medicine and its sub-specialties in India. He was awarded MD qualification by the Bangalore University and Diplomate of National Board (New Delhi) in 1992.
Dr Shenoy commenced postgraduate training in the UK in 1996 and was awarded MRCP (UK) in 1997. He achieved dual accreditation in General (Internal) Medicine and Gastroenterology from Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) in September 2008. He has a Diploma in Medical Education from Cardiff University (2010). He was awarded FRCP by the Royal College of Physicians, London in 2012.Dr Shenoy has undertaken training in Gastroenterology in Manchester, Gloucester, Taunton and Bristol.
He was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at Colchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in October 2008. He is an accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist at the North East Essex Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. He is the clinical Lead for Upper GI cancer at Colchester General Hospital. He is an honorary Senior Lecturer at Queens University, London. He is an MRCP Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians, London. He is a faculty Member at Norwich Endoscopy Training Centre. He is an accredited appraiser for consultants.
