Dr Alan Watson (MA MB BChir PhD FRCP RCPathME), graduated with distinction from Cambridge University in 1998 and has since developed an outstanding career in gastroenterology based on a background of high quality academic achievements, specialist endoscopy skills and excellent communication to diagnose and treat intestinal disease. His clinical training has been in centres of excellence in the UK and Europe, culminating in appointment to Barts Health as a Consultant in 2010. His academic research, leading to a PhD from University College London was based at the world class Cancer Research UK laboratory and has been published in Nature and Nature Medicine.
Dr Watson is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and is a certified and accredited colonoscopy expert with the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. He continues with regular audit and research and is also a qualified and practicing Medical Examiner.
