Aug 01 to Aug 03: Basic Surgical training including general surgery, vascular surgery, plastic surgery & orthopaedic surgery. Peninsula region involving placements at Derriford, Truro and Exeter. This included three years of on call radiology and a six month specialist block in musculoskeletal radiology in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I completed a six month fellowship in clinical musculoskeletal radiology at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford. As well as general radiological procedures such as image guided drainage and biopsy I achieved competence in musculoskeletal procedures such as root block injections, facet joint injections, arthrography, ultrasound guided injections and I gained experience in performing vertebroplasty.
