Dr Roberts is a Consultant Physician specialising in Gastroenterology at Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust. He has specialist experience in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Liver Disease and Advanced Endoscopy. Dr Roberts graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2006. He underwent postgraduate training in Southport, Warrington and Liverpool before starting specialist training from 2010 working in Blackburn, Lancaster, Manchester and Wigan. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2009 and joined the Specialist Register in 2016. Dr Roberts has a keen interest in teaching, organising regular specialist training sessions in 4 separate units, along with completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Workplace Based Medical Education (Part 1) in 2013. Dr Roberts has played key roles in clinical leadership, introducing new ways of working including the development of a liver bundle and a protocol for managing a GI bleeding service.
