Dr Sharief is a Consultant Neurologist and the Clinical Lead at the Department of Neurology, Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust. He received advanced neurological and neurophysiological training at the Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London. After receiving three academic degrees from the University of London, he completed his higher neurological training at Barts and the Royal London Hospital and took up his first Consultant Neurologist position at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in 1997. A year later he became the Director of the MS Research Clinic at Guy's Hospital and headed the CSF Research Unit at King's College London.
