Dr Pushpakaran Munuswamy is a consultant gastroenterologist treating patients with gastrointestinal problems, liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and patients with complex nutrition requirements. He uses endoscopic procedures to treat patients with acute gastro-intestinal bleeding. Dr Munuswamy trained in gastroenterology and liver diseases at King's College Hospital, London, as part of the South East Thames rotation. He has experience in managing a wide range of complex, acute and chronic conditions. He is interested in innovation and have developed a new design of naso-gastric tube. This design was given a highly commended prize in the competition in East of England region. He believes proper design is essential to all the services we develop and a good design is capable of solving most problems in life. Patient safety is central to Dr Munuswamy's clinical practice, together with a gentle, kind, considerate and ‘listening' approach to patient care. He takes time to discuss and involve patients in the decision process for managing their condition.
