He was awarded the MRCP in 2000 and performed academic research in Crohn's disease at St Mark's Academic Institute in London between 2004 and 2006. Dr Shah obtained his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2008. His recent appointments include a consulting role at Broomfield Hospital since 2009, clinic lead for inflammatory bowel disease for Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust since 2012, Medical Advisor for the Mid Essex Group of Crohn's and Colitis UK since 2014 and a JAG accredited endoscopist and endoscopy trainer.
