Dr Roberto Verdolini is a Consultant Dermatologist in Hertfordshire, Rivers Hospital he specialises in skin cancer, acne, urticarial, hyperhidrosis, genital dermatology and hair .

Dr Verdolini is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Member of the European Society of Dermato-Venereology and the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr Verdolini qualified from the University of Ancona (Italy) in 1993 with Honours. He was awarded the University’s prize for one of the top 3 dissertations (subsequently published in the “Journal of Pathology”, an international medical journal). Early medical posts were in General Pathology, where he gained a deep insight into histopathology and skin cancer research.
Specialist training in Dermatology was completed in 1999 qualifying with Honours. Again, his final dissertation gained publication rights, appearing in the “Journal of Cutaneous Pathology”. A further period of training ensued at the Royal London Hospital (2000 - 2001). From 2003 to 2004 he attended the Dermatopathology department at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’. In 2008 he completed the European Masters of Dermato-surgery (University of Siena-Italy).
His first UK Consultant appointment was with the Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust (PAH), Harlow, Essex in 2002. He was then appointed Substantive Consultant Dermatologist at Newham University Hospital, London, in 2003. From 2004 until 2020 he also practiced at the London Dermatology Centre, one of the most popular clinics in the Harley Street area.
In October 2007 he re-joined the Barts and the London Hospital NHS Trust, where he took on responsibility for skin cancer and dermatological surgery. In 2010 he returned to the Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust, as Lead Clinician in Dermatology (a position he still holds today). Under his direction, the department expanded, to deliver a modern dermatology service. The results of a survey carried out by UCL, in 2017, deemed the Dermatology Department at PAH to be the most efficient and best led among all the Hospital Trusts North of the Thames.
In 2024 he was the recipient of the Princess Alexandra Patients’ Panel Award. He published 45 papers in international, peer reviewed medical journals, presented and lectured at international conferences including the American Academy of Dermatology, the European Academy of Dermato-Venereology and the British Association of Dermatologists. He authored several chapters in medical books. From 2011 until 2019 he was regular lecturer at Sharjah University, UAE. Based on Google Scholar data, with 1000 citations in medical literature, Dr Verdolini results highly influential in the field of dermatology globally, and his research has been incorporated in treatment guidelines in both America and Australia.
Dr Verdolini, a fully accredited Consultant in Dermatology on the British Specialist Register of the GMC since 2002, also became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (2007). He is member of the British Association of Dermatologists and of both the European Academy of Dermato-Venereology (2006) and the American Academy of Dermatology (2008).
