He trained as a junior doctor at Addenbrooke's and Papworth hospitals and specialised in Respiratory Medicine at King's College, Guy's and St. Thomas' hospitals. Dr Ekeowa completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge funded by a Medical Research Council award and won College and University prizes as well as an international Young Investigator prize.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and contributed to book chapters on respiratory disorders. Dr Ugo Ekeowa leads the Lung Cancer and Asthma services at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust but sees and treats the full range of respiratory and general medical conditions. He is detailed and careful in his clinical assessment and works with a support team that respond promptly to patient's requests.
