Oculoplastics: All eyelid disease including cysts, eyelid lumps and bumps, chalazia, periocular skin cancer, ingrowing eyelashes (trichiasis), eyelid twitching (blepharospasm), eyelid reconstruction, eyelid hooding (dermatochalasis), eyelid malposition (ectropion; entropion correction), lower lid tightening, drooping lids (ptosis surgery), droopy eyebrows (brow ptosis, brow lifts), facial palsy restorative surgery to eyelids and brows.

Miss Shafi studied Medicine at Cambridge University and graduated with degrees in Physiology (First class) and Medicine. She undertook specialist Ophthalmic training in the West Midlands Deanery gaining a wide range of general ophthalmology experience before undertaking subspecialist training in Oculoplastic surgery. Her subspecialist expertise in Oculoplastic surgery developed during advanced subspecialty training in Birmingham and Coventry followed by a prestigious Oculoplastic and Orbital fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Miss Shafi is a full-time Consultant Oculoplastic Ophthalmologist at East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust having been appointed in August 2016. She is the lead clinician for the Oculoplastic service in this region. She specialises in all aspects of eyelid, lacrimal (tear drainage), eye socket and orbital disease. She also has a regular general clinic and cataract operating list.
In addition to her clinical practice, Miss Shafi has published many research papers, presented her work at numerous national and international conferences where she has been awarded several prizes.
She is responsible for ophthalmology training in East & North Hertfordshire and is a faculty member and lecturer on courses held to teach cataract and oculoplastic surgical techniques.
