MBBS MD MRCP (Neurology) FHEA FRCP Professor Chhetri is a Consultant Neurologist at the regional Neurosciences centre at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTHTR). He undertook general medical training in Yorkshire and Manchester and completed neurology training from the Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre. He manages a wide variety of neurological conditions including headache, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and nerve and muscle disease. He is the Co-Director of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Motor Neurone Disease care and research centre. Professor Chhetri has an interest in medical education and research. He served as the Royal College of physicians (RCP) College Tutor at Royal Preston Hospital for three years until 2020. In recognition of his contribution to medical education, he was awarded the “William Cullen Prize for Excellence in Teaching or Service Innovation” by Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2018. He sits on the North West National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) advisory panel for Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) programme and is a principal investigator on a range of studies including clinical trials. He has a number of publications in relation to his research and clinical interests.
