Mr Ahmad M Omar is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based at Whiston and St Helens Hospital with an established practice incorporating all aspects of Urology. He has particular interests in female and reconstructive urology including advanced urinary incontinence treatment.
He runs a weekly specialist female and pelvic floor clinic treating specialized tertiary referrals from other Consultants and GPs.
Mr Omar is the clinical lead for urodynamic assessment and management of bladder storage symptoms. He is also the lead on intra-vesical treatment for lower tract symptoms having established the designated clinic in St Helens Hospital.
Regionally, he is one of the few Consultants offering treatment of male urinary incontinence with the new adjustable male sling (ATOMS) on a day case basis.
Recently, he has established a further initiative with the plastic surgical team for treatment of complex male genital pathologies.
Prior to his appointment as a Consultant, Mr Omar has undergone subspecialist training in reconstructive urology at the world renowned urology centre in Mansoura, Egypt where he worked as Senior Clinical Fellow for 12 months. Additionally, he has completed a clinical observership in Arezzo, Italy under Professor Barbagli. He maintains a keen interest in clinical research and Trials having completed an MSc in Urology and is the author of several peer reviewed papers on functional and reconstructive Urology.
