Mr Amit Datta qualified as a doctor from St Georges Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1998. In 2003 he started his higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in Birmingham at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.
During his training he obtained an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from the University of Cardiff in 2005 and passed his FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2007. In 2009 Mr Datta was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery & gained specialist recognition by the GMC.
Mr Datta is a fellowship trained Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon. In 2009 he trained at the Oxford Trauma Unit and was the Shoulder Fellow at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. In 2010 he was the Upper Limb Fellow at King's College Hospital, London. He was appointed as a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford in 2010.
In order gain a greater knowledge of non surgical management options for musculoskeletal health he has obtained training in Lifestyle Medicine, Physiotherapy & Plant Based Nutrition. This breath of experience combining traditional Orthopaedic training and knowledge from complementary disciplines enables a more hollistic treatment for all his patients.
He is an excellent communicator and is able to explain complex issues in a concise manner so that his patients are able to understand the potential underlying causes for their symptoms. This knowledge can help them become empowered with individual management strategies to improve their own symptoms.
