In 1993 he graduated from Lublin Medical University, Poland. He completed specialty training in general and colo-rectal surgery and in 2000 he was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at District General Hospital in Pulawy, Poland. Having completed a research project on the influence of long term treatment with PPIs on gastric juice milieu he was awarded PhD degree. From 2006 to 2009 he worked as a Consultant General Surgeon at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. In 2009 he was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust where he is developing and leading on the day surgery Service.
