Mr Anthony Kawesha is a consultant laparoscopic colorectal and general surgeon in the West Midlands.
Mr Kawesha is a Consultant General Surgeon with a Coloproctology specialist interest. He was appointed as a substantive Consultant in 2006 at Russell's Hall Hospital Dudley. In addition to cancer work, he sees patients with all aspects of coloproctology (e.g inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, functional bowel disorders and endoscopy (OGD and Colonoscopy), bowel screening and complicated anorectal conditions e.g. Haemorrhoids, pilonidal sinus. Mr Kawesha is a specialist in minimally invasive techniques for haemorrhoids. Other interests include laparoscopic cholecystectomy and groin hernias.

Mr Kawesha basic medical qualifications include a BSc as well as MBCHB. Following surgical training that took him to Cambridge, Wales, Birmingham and Merseyside (Research into the genetics of pancreatic cancer) and back in South Wales, he obtained the FRCS(Ed) and finally the Intercollegiate FRCS culminating in the award of the CCST. He holds an MD thesis doctor of Medicine from the University of Birmingham in molecular biology of pancreatic cancer. He is a fully trained Laparoscopic colorectal surgeon having successfully passed his LAPCO programme.
