Mr Maheshwar has been a consultant for seven years, having previously completed his ENT training in Wales, followed by a year‘s clinical fellowship at the world renowned Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand and a six-month TWJ research fellowship at Cincinnati Hospital, USA.
Mr Maheshwar developed the head and neck unit at Colchester Hospital, setting up its Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) and subsequently with colleagues The Essex Cancer Head and Neck MDT at Chelmsford.

He is the lead consultant for both head and neck cancers and thyroid cancers at Colchester Hospital and has been published in numerous papers in peer reviewed journals.
