Asad Qayyum is a Consultant Otologist and General ENT Surgeon at the Peterborough City Hospital. Prior to his appointment at Peterborough he has worked as an ENT Consultant in Scotland. He completed his junior ENT training at the St. Mary's Hospital London and was appointed as a Specialist Registrar in ENT on the East of England training scheme. Asad has also performed research on the genetics of hearing loss and spent a year at the Sanger Genome Institute in Cambridge.
Asad was appointed as the International Otology Fellow at the Royal Darwin Hospital in the Northern Territory of Australia, where he specialised in advanced stage ear problems. On return from Australia he spent time on the Otology Unit at the Addenbrookes Hospital, formalising his overseas training and learning the skills of Implantation in children and adults with hearing disabilities.
