Mr Ivanov underwent his training in a renowned teaching hospital and national tertiary centre, Fundeni Clinical Institute for Digestive Diseases and Liver Transplant in Bucharest. He successfully completed the higher training in general surgery in 2011. His training covered a wide range of surgical interventions – from simple procedures to the most complex ones. This included interventions for various benign and malignant Upper and Lower gastrointestinal, as well as hepatic, pancreatic and biliary conditions. In 2010, Mr Bogdan Ivanov came to the UK where he had further training opportunities. This allowed him to improve his clinical skills as well as his surgical skills especially in laparoscopic surgery. During the years before becoming a Consultant in the UK he had the chance of further training especially in Laparoscopic Upper GI surgery and Emergency General Surgery while working as a senior registrar. On regular basis he attends various courses and conferences that are relevant to his practice and contributes towards his continuous professional development.
