Mr Lorenzi is a Consultant Surgeon, who specialises in laparoscopic, upper GI and weight loss surgery.

Mr Lorenzi qualified with honours at the University of Siena, in Italy (the eighth oldest University in the world, founded in 1240). Mr Lorenzi completed his surgical rotations at the University of Siena, before receiving training in high volume renowned Centres in USA (Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida), in France (Istitut Paoli-Calmettes in Marseille), and in UK (Oxford Radcliffe University Hospitals). He completed prestigious Fellowships in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at St. James' University Hospital in Leeds, Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer Surgery at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London and Laparoscopic Bariatric (weight loss) Surgery at the Imperial College in London.
Mr Lorenzi received a four year research grant from the University of Siena, and achieved his Ph.D. in Oncology and Genetics and the title of “Doctor Europaeus” in 2012 in collaboration with the University of Oxford. His research work has been published in famous medical journals, and he has been an invited speaker to national and international meetings. Mr Lorenzi is part of the faculty of the MCh in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at Anglia Ruskin University.
In 2014, Mr Lorenzi was appointed as Consultant Upper GI and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. Mr Lorenzi is the Director and Co-Founder of the Essex Surgical Specialists (ESS), which is the first and only upper GI partnership in Essex. Together with his consultant colleague, Mr Alex Charalampopoulos, they have formed ESS to provide excellent care to patients with gastrointestinal and obesity problems in Essex offering many years of experience and a dynamic team approach.
