Mr Cyril Marek is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery.
Mr Marek is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialises in both lower and upper limb surgery more recently offering Robotic Knee Replacement.
Mr Marek has worked as an Orthopaedic Surgeon since 1993 and since 2003 as a Consultant both in the UK and in the Czech Republic. He graduated from Charles University Prague in 1992 and followed the Orthopaedic Graduate Training Scheme under the institute for Post Graduate Studies in Prague.
Mr Marek's training included an internship at University Hospital Bichat in Paris under Professor Jean-Yves Alnot and has practiced across a whole spectrum of Orthopaedic and Trauma disciplines.
For ten years, Mr Marek performed ultrasonography of the newborns' hip, diagnostics and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip; he was also involved in the Emergency Medical Service for more than a decade.
Between 2003 and 2006, Mr Marek held the post of Deputy Head Surgeon of the Orthopaedic Department, General Hospital Ceska Lipa, which also involved teaching of junior colleagues.
