Mr David Cooper is a Vascular and General Surgeon at Winfield Hospital in Gloucester who specialises in varicose vein surgery.
Mr Cooper accepts all referrals relating to Vascular Surgery including varicose veins (surgery, foam sclerotherapy and VNUS closure), leg ulcers, lymphoedema, peripheral vascular disease, carotid disease and aneurysmal disease (including endovascular aneurysm repair).
He can undertake basic ultrasound assessment of varicose veins and aneurysms. Furthermore he is happy to see general surgical complaints such as lumps and bumps. All of these conditions reflect his busy NHS practice.

He continues an academic interest with over 20 papers in peer reviewed journals and numerous presentations at national and international meetings.
His higher surgical training was based in both the North Eastern Thames and East of England regions, where he obtained a broad based experience of General and Vascular Surgery. He returned to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge as a Senior Registrar where he completed his subspeciality training in complex Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He was appointed as a consultant at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2008.
