Academic Background

Mr Hemaya qualified in Egypt in 1977. He had a fellowship for one year in the USA (1983-1984) and attended the University of South Carolina, where he started training in ultrasound scanning. He obtained a masters degree in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1984 and then MRCOG in 1991.

He has been a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 2004. Mr Hemaya undertook advanced training in ultrasound scanning at King's College Hospital between 1994-1995.

He has been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at The QEII Hospital since 1996.
