Specialises in General Surgery and Lower Gastro-intestinal/Colorectal Surgery(Laparoscopic). I have been a full-time Consultant since 2013 and took up my post as a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Kettering General Hospital in 2017. I have experience in laparoscopic surgery (keyhole) which was gained by formal training and certification. My services include key hole gall bladder stone surgery and key hole hernia surgery. I have performed more than 1,000 laparoscopic gallbladder procedures and more than 500 hernia procedures which include open, key hole and local anaesthetic techniques. My experience also includes incisional hernias. I have a special interest in hernia surgery, gall bladder surgery, abdominal surgery, general surgery, gall stones, cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia repair, groin hernias, groin surgery and umbilical hernias. Laparoscopic (key-hole) procedures include gallstones/gall bladder (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) and laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. My sub-specialist interest is minimally invasive treatment for bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. I also regularly treat patients with peri-anal conditions such as piles, skin tags, anal fissure, anal fistula and pilonidal sinus, anal fissure, pilonidal sinus, anal fistula, anal polyps, haemorrhoids, banding of haemorrhoids, abdominal pain, change in bowel habit, irritable bowel syndrome, colorectal cancer, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease and bowel resection. In addition to my clinical work I am the Patient Safety Lead for the General Surgery Directorate. I am also heavily involved in the surgical education and training of Medical Students at the University of Leicester and Junior Doctors.
