Mr James Brewin is trained in general urology with subspecialist interests in the management of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate, male lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), urinary/kidney stones, diagnostic urology, urological infections, blood in the urine, foreskin problems and erectile dysfunction. Mr Brewin is skilled in laser prostate surgery and has performed over 300 holmium laser enucleation of the prostate HoLEP procedures; he has established a regional service for HoLEP surgery. Mr Brewin also offers minimally invasive treatment options for men with enlarged prostates including Urolift, Rezum and Aquablation Therapy. Urethral Stricture. HoLEP Laser Prostatectomy.

Mr Brewin graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2001. After his basic surgical training he undertook his five year urology specialist training in the South Thames region at King's College, Guy's & St Thomas', Epsom and, Brighton Hospitals. His training included a year with the Stone Unit as Guy's Hospital in which he developed a subspecialist interest in stone surgery. During his training he completed an MSc in urological sciences and a certificate in medical education. His other interest is in the teaching and training of doctors. He has completed a fellowship in medical education and published several research papers on simulation training in urology.
