Mr Mahaluxmivala began his orthopaedic training on the Newcastle Registrar Rotation and completed his specialist orthopaedic training in London at the world renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He spent his final years specialising exclusively in hip, knee and lower limb procedures. He has completed a number of visiting fellowships, including time in prestigious knee and hip replacement centres in North America.
Mr Mahaluxmivala is recognised as an expert in his field and has spoken at a number of national and international conferences. His work has been recognised and he has received a Clinical Excellence Award at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He has been an invited guest speaker at the combined British Orthopaedic Association and Irish Orthopaedic Association Annual Conference in techniques on how to perform knee replacements.
Mr Mahaluxmivala is keenly involved in training surgeons to perform total knee replacement and total hip replacement and has been awarded Trainer of the Year from the Royal London Hospital Rotation. He competed with nominees from some of London's premier teaching institutions for this honour.
Mr Mahaluxmivala has a special interest in patient education and is a surgeon designer for animations for hip and knee replacement surgery. This was done especially to educate patients and help them in understanding their forthcoming surgery. This innovation was shortlisted for the NHS Innovation awards.
He is the co-founder and co-director of the Royal College of Surgeons of England FRCS (Orth) Course. He is also an invited guest lecturer and faculty member at The Cambridge FRCS (Orth) Course and Harlow Knee Replacement Course and has previously been an invited guest lecturer and faculty member at the Tibia Master Class at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the University of Warwick FRCS (Orth) Course.
