Mr John Adam started as a Consultant in August 2022 after previously completing a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. He obtained his MBBS degree from Imperial College London in 2010, having also completed a BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia with First Class Honours in 2007.
He went on to do his Junior Doctor training in Manchester followed by Higher Surgical Trauma and Orthopaedics training in the North West Rotation. During this period, he obtained multiple qualifications including Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery (FRCS Tr & Orth), and CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
Mr Adam has an interest in teaching and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at Edge Hill University, for which he was awarded a distinction. He has been a faculty member on courses and provides regular teaching for junior doctors and medical students. With regards to his research experience, he has delivered multiple presentations and published numerous peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals, with topics including Shoulder trauma, Shoulder arthritis, Shoulder instability and Rotator Cuff tears.
