Academic Background

After graduating from Aristotelion University, Thessaloniki, in 2004, Mr Evangelou completed his basic surgical and Orthopaedic training in Greece in 2013. He undertook a year of research focusing on the aseptic loosening following hip replacements at University of Patras, under the mentorship of Professor Stathopoulos (Grant by the Hellenic Orthopaedic Association). The preliminary results were presented at the BOA annual meeting in 2017. Having completed his specialist training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in 2013 (CCT in Trauma & Orthopaedics), he moved to UK. He has obtained quite a lot working experience in a few Hospitals across the country, included Royal London Hospital. Moreover, he had been awarded a fellowship in Soft Tissue Knee Surgery from the Hellenic Arthroscopic Association (George Noulis) in February 2015 and moved to Germany (Heidelberg) to work and gain valuable experience next to Professors R. Siebold and F. Thorey. It has been followed his second fellowship in Soft Tissue Knee surgery in UK at Chapel Allerton Hospital (Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) in 2020. Also, his third fellowship in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty was at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2021. After he has finished with success all his fellowships he has been appointed as Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which was his last position before joining Oaks Hospital part of the Ramsay Health Care UK.
