His Orthopaedic fellowship was in Auckland, New Zealand with Mr Barry Tietjens, one of the world's foremost soft tissue reconstruction knee surgeons.
He has published many articles in scientific journals on a variety of Orthopaedic subjects, with emphasis on hip and knee arthroplasty.
He has worked as a Consultant trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Colchester since 1995. He performs a high volume of knee and hip replacements, he also carries out all forms of soft tissue knee surgery and reconstruction.
He is a nationally and regionally recognised trainer of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has won regional awards for this work. He has a keen interest in training and is currently involved with the training of undergraduates and surgical trainees.
He instigated a nationally recognised knee arthroscopy course for trainee surgeons and remains involved in the teaching on this course. He also teaches on various other knee surgery courses.
He has been involved in Medical Management, he has been Divisional Director and Clinical Director in the NHS and is currently the Clinical Lead for musculoskeletal care in the local area.
