
Mr Paul Davies - NHS Consultant Spinal Surgeon, New Hall Hospital, Salisbury
Investigation and treatment (both non-surgical and surgical) of all spinal conditions such as sciatica, back pain, stenosis, sacroiliac joint fusion (over 20 years of experience), fractures, neck pain and referred arm symptoms (radiculopathy).
Mr Davies has a wealth of experience in spinal fusion surgery, decompression and discectomy surgery. He also is very experienced at Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF) surgery and disc replacement surgery (both Lumbar and Cervical). He carries out Transverse Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF), Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF) and Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion, also known as XLIF procedures regularly.
Mr Davies also has 20 years of experience operating and treating adult and paediatric scoliosis. The latter he still carries out on charity visits to Zambia in Africa. Mr Davies has been a consultant spinal surgeon for over 20 years. He was the Lead Spinal Surgeon in Cardiff University Hospital of Wales for 20 years in one of the busiest spinal units in the country. He has experience in the management of all spinal conditions from the simple to the more complex such as scoliosis, tumour and trauma work, including the management of revision , complex spinal conditions where other surgery may have failed.
Mr Davies has trained over 50 spinal fellows during his career in Cardiff, most of whom have gone on to be spinal consultants in UK and abroad.
