He undertook specialist Fellowship training in Hand and Upper limb surgery at Wrightington Hospital, Lancashire He is an active in medical education and research. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on trauma and orthopaedic surgery. He is regularly invited to teach on Postgraduate Orthopaedic courses. He is responsible for overseeing the surgical education of the medical students from the University of Central Lancashire, Lancaster University and the American University of the Caribbean.
