Mr Pullan was appointed as consultant in general and colorectal surgery at Torbay Hospital in 1996 contributing to elective and emergency services in surgery. His clinical interests encompass all aspects of general and colorectal surgery, especially the investigation, diagnosis and management of surgical digestive disorders, surgical endoscopy and advanced colonoscopy, laparoscopic surgery for biliary disease and the management of abdominal wall hernia and defects requiring reconstructive techniques. Anal disorders, fistulae, sinus, haemorrhoids and their management are other areas of interest. He has expertise in anal disorders including haemorrhoids, tags, fissures or fistulas and their management.
Mr Pullan trained in Oxford University with degrees in Physiology, Medicine and Surgery. He lectured in anatomy at the University of Manchester Medical School then trained at Nottingham and Bristol, completing as a Senior Registar on the Welsh Surgical training rotation. His Doctorate of Medicine degree was based on research on inflammatory bowel disease.
