Hip arthroscopy (key-hole) surgery for patients with hip pain due to labral tears and hip impingement. Cell therapy using Bone Marrow Concentrate (BMC) for early arthritis and articular cartilage defects in hips and knees, including the use of PRP injections for sports injuries. Has special interest in treating young patients with hip pathologies such arthritis and AVN using hip preservation techniques and later un-cemented hip replacements and ceramic bearings when needed. Computer assisted total knee replacement using the new i-Assist system. Revision (redo) hip and knee replacements including partial knee replacements.

Academic Background

He attended King Edward VII Memorial Medical School, Mumbai and qualified in 1999. He then trained as an orthopaedic surgeon for 4 years in Mumbai, India before coming to the UK in 2003. He completed his orthopaedic training in the the East of England surgical rotation in trauma and orthopaedics, which included training in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge for 2 years during which he was awarded the FRCS (Tr&Orth) in 2012. He then completed two pedigree fellowships, the first in Cambridge, UK under Mr Richard Villar who was the pioneer of hip arthroscopy in the UK. After this he spent a fruitful year in University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada working with world famous surgeons in hip and knee reconstruction - Drs Clive Duncan and Bas Masri in 2014. He has been a Consultant in the UK since the last 4 years and has over 18 years of experience in the field of Orthopaedics and lower limb problems. He has more than 20 publications, 22 presentations and 2 book chapters. He leads the Audit Department at Peterborough City Hospital and is active in research.
