Mr. Kalra is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip and Knee surgery at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has a specialist interest in complex and major trauma, joint replacement and arthroscopic (keyhole) sports knee surgery.
Mr. Kalra graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1999. He completed his general training in Nottingham and his specialist training in Cambridge before going on to gain his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009 and joining the Specialist Register in 2010.
Mr. Kalra was awarded a specialist fellowship in Vancouver, Canada to expand his experience dealing with complex conditions. He has visited multiple centres in Europe and North America and attended many conferences worldwide, in order to stay up to date with the latest techniques.
He most recently went on sabbatical to work in New Zealand and Australia. Mr. Kalra regularly teaches on several regional and national courses. He has ongoing research interests and has presented his work nationally and internationally. Mr. Kalra has recently trained to act as an expert witness and develop an accredited medicolegal practice. He has held several management and clinical leadership positions with his NHS Trust and has been on a NICE committee to develop national guidelines on antibiotic stewardship. Using his breadth of skills and experience, Mr. Kalra aims to deliver high quality patient care.
