Mr ChandraSekharan qualified from the University of Madras, India in 1984 where he also completed his masters in surgery. On arrival in the United Kingdom, he completed his FRCS and trained in general surgery in Huddersfield. Subsequently, he trained extensively in breast surgery by working at the specialist breast units of both Colchester General Hospital and Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford for over ten years. He completed his MSc in Clinical Oncology from Birmingham University in 2001.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and currently is a medical staff governor for Colchester Hospital.
Mr ChandraSekharan is particularly involved in Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery, running the Reconstructive Clinic with the plastic surgeons at Colchester.
With a keen passion for cancer research, he is actively involved in clinical trials and laboratory research both at Essex University and the Helen Rollason lab at Anglia Ruskin University. His roles include being a clinical and educational supervisor for the trainees and he is an examiner for the College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
