Graduated from medical school with Distinction and MD in 2000 from the State Medical school of Nangarhar in Afghanistan. Later came to the UK and took his first training job in 2005 in Norfolk. He completed his Royal College of Surgeons of England Intercollegiate Exams in 2009, and obtained a Masters Degree in clinical and scientific Urology from the University College London in 2012. His initial core training in urology was at Peterborough City Hospital Completed the FRCS(Urol) examinations in 2015 and took his first Consultant job in 2016 at King's College Hospitals London .He took further training in renal Laparoscopy under Professor Sriprasad and laser prostate surgery. He has also trained in Paediatric Urology under Professor Mushtaq (Consultant in Paediatric Urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital). After more than a year's service and training at Kings, Mr Miakhil came back to the North West Anglia NHS Trust and was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon.v Mr Miakhil is a general urologist with a specialist interest in laser prostatectomy (HoLEPs) and upper urinary tract laparoscopy. He has performed many laser prostatectomies at PCH since his appointment. He performs complex stone surgery, BPH surgery and performs Transperineal prostate biopsy as part of the investigation of Prostate Cancer.
