Mr Dighe completed his MBBS at Grant Medical College in Mumbai and went on to complete his General Surgical Training from Mumbai University. He further gained two year experience in post-MS qualification posts with some time spent as a Lecturer at Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospitals He came to UK in 2003 to widen his surgical horizons and worked in a HPB and transplant unit as well numerous Colorectal units.
He pursued a Research degree with the Institute of Cancer Research and successfully defended his thesis and gained a MD (RES) qualification from London University. He joined the Southwest Tames Higher Surgical Programme in 2009 and acquired his FRCS qualification in 2013. During the training, he has developed a sub-speciality interest in Benign Upper GI Surgery and currently subspecialises in antireflux surgery and complex hiatal hernia repairs.
He is currently a substantive Upper GI and General Surgery Consultant at Darent Valley Hospital and has successfully introduced a new service providing antireflux and hiatal surgery. He is currently also gaining experience in endocrine surgery and will aim to provide thyroid and adrenal services at his NHS base, Darent Valley Hospital.
